　　What do you want most in a friend-someone who is intelligent, or someone who has a sense of humor, or someone who is reliable? Which one of these characteristics is most important to you? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your choice. 　　你想要朋友是怎樣的人？一個(gè)聰慧的人，一個(gè)幽默的人，還是一個(gè)可靠的人？哪一種品質(zhì)對(duì)你為重要？請(qǐng)用具體的理由和事例來(lái)說(shuō)明。

　　As far as I am concerned, these three characteristics are all important in a friend but I consider reliability to be the most important. Intelligence is important because I can have good conversations with an intelligent friend. Intelligent friends have a strong thinking capacity, which challenges and inspires me, and they have their own ideas, as I do, so we can learn new things from each other. I believe that a sense of humor is an important characteristic in a friend because life has many stresses and “l(fā)aughter is the best medicine.” A friend with a sense of humor is fun to be with and can help me to relax and balance the stress of study.

　　However, while intelligence and humor are important characteristics, they do not necessarily mean that we can trust someone to be a true friend. In my personal experience, people with bad characters can use intelligence and humor to deceive and cheat other people. These people are not real friends. In fact, intelligence and a sense of humor are only good characteristics when they are combined with reliability. When someone is reliable, we know that we can trust this person and that he or she will not cheat us .

　　Moreover, intelligence and humor may be inspiring qualities when times are good, but sometimes we all experience bad times, and this is when we most need our friends. As the idiom says, “a friend in need is a friend indeed.” I want a friend who will comfort me when I am sad, who will reassure me when I am scared, and who will support me when others do not. In short, the best friend is someone we can rely on at any time and in any situation, and this is why I have chosen reliability as the most important characteristic.

　　就我而言，聰慧、幽默和可靠這三種特質(zhì)都非常重要，但其中可靠是為重要的。聰慧的重要在于我能夠和一個(gè)聰慧的朋友進(jìn)行愉快的交談。聰慧的朋友具有很強(qiáng)的思維能力，這可以挑戰(zhàn)和激勵(lì)我，他們和我一樣，有自己的想法，因而我們可以從對(duì)方身上學(xué)習(xí)新的知識(shí)。朋友的幽默感很重要是因?yàn)樯钪杏刑嗟膲毫?，而笑聲是比較好的良藥。和一個(gè)有幽默感的朋友在一起充滿(mǎn)樂(lè)趣，可以幫助我放松和平衡學(xué)習(xí)中的壓力。

　　然而，盡管聰慧和幽默感都是重要的特質(zhì)，并不意味著我們可以放心地將具有這些特性的人當(dāng)做真正的朋友。在我的個(gè)人經(jīng)驗(yàn)中，一些有著不良品德的人會(huì)運(yùn)用他們的聰慧和幽默感去欺騙他人，這些人不會(huì)是真正的朋友。事實(shí)上，聰慧和幽默只有和可靠組合在一起才是真正好的特質(zhì)。當(dāng)一個(gè)人是可靠的，我們就知道我們可以信任這個(gè)人，他/她不會(huì)欺騙我們。

　　此外，聰慧和幽默在人生順利的時(shí)候，也許是令人振奮的特質(zhì)。但有時(shí)我們都會(huì)經(jīng)歷低谷，而這時(shí)是我們需要朋友的時(shí)候。如習(xí)語(yǔ)所說(shuō)：“患難識(shí)知己?！币粋€(gè)能在悲傷時(shí)安慰我，在害怕時(shí)鼓勵(lì)我，在不被支持的時(shí)候支持我的朋友?？傊?，比較好的朋友是我們?cè)谌魏螘r(shí)間、任何情況下都可以依賴(lài)的人，這就是我選擇可靠為重要特質(zhì)的原因。
